🛠️ Bosselady’s Mod List for Safe Spaces in The Sims 4

These are some of the mods and settings I use to build emotionally safe, inclusive, and story-driven gameplay. Many are part of my own custom series, designed to reduce stress, reflect real-life diversity, and give players more control over their Sims’ lives.

I may be considered a “small” mod creator, but I’ve been modding The Sims 4 for over five years—and in that time, I’ve released over 400 mods on CurseForge with more than 7 million downloads. My work focuses on emotional safety, representation, and storytelling control, always with a gentle, inclusive vibe.

Many of my mods are created in collaboration with my friend Tralfaz, a brilliant coder whose technical expertise helps bring my creative vision to life.

All of my mods are free for everyone, always. If you’d like to support my work or suggest a mod idea, you can join me on Patreon. I do occasionally release mods via early access for Patreon members—usually when I’m testing new features or polishing a complex idea. Patreon supporters can also submit mod suggestions for mods that reflect their own gameplay needs and values.

🌸 Mods for Story Control & Emotional Safety

These tools help me reduce interruptions, manage autonomy, and keep gameplay calm and intentional.

  • MC Command Center – Essential for autonomy control, relationship tuning, and world management
  • UI Cheats Extension – Quick fixes for needs, relationships, aspirations, and more
  • Make It Stop Series – Removes or reduces stressful popups, unwanted behavior, and unwanted events
  • Make It Better Series – Improves gameplay flow, adds gentle tweaks, and supports cozy storytelling
  • Slower Romantic Relationship Decay – Helps preserve meaningful relationships over time
  • Morning Routine & Bedtime Mods – Adds structure and predictability to daily life, supporting gentle storytelling

Other mods that are helpful for Story Control include: Announce Visitor, Follow Me, NPC Commander, and Wait Here.

🧬 Mods for Representation & Identity

These mods help me reflect real-world diversity, health experiences, and cultural nuance in my game.

  • Illness Traits Bundle – Adds traits for Chronically Ill and Immunocompromised, helpful for expressing health-related identities
  • Townie Overhaul Mods – Reimagines Sims like Johnny Zest with disabilities and more inclusive backstories
  • New Townies & New Pre-Made Sims – Adds culturally diverse Sims to enrich neighborhoods and storytelling
  • Better Traits Series – Enhances in-game traits to make them more meaningful and impactful
  • Custom Traits & Aspirations – Examples include:
    • Birdwatcher Aspiration & Trait
    • Child Aspirations Bundle
    • Studious Trait

These mods help me tell stories that reflect lived experience, culture, and care.

🧙 Occult & Storyline Management

I tailor supernatural gameplay to fit my emotional tone using in-game settings and gentle mod support.

  • StrangerVille Storyline Cheats – Used to complete the mystery quickly and avoid disruptions
  • In-game settings – I lock doors to prevent vampire break-ins and confine Werewolves to Moonwood Mill
  • Home Regions Mod – Helps keep occults like vampires and spellcasters in their designated worlds
  • Spellcaster & Fairy Gameplay – When I play with these occults, I focus on skill tree choices that let them help others (e.g., healing, protection) rather than chaotic powers

🏡 Worldbuilding & Neighborhood Vibes

I’ve rebuilt or renovated every lot in The Sims 4—homes, parks, libraries, and community spaces—to reflect my gameplay style and values.

  • Cozy homes that support storytelling and accessibility
  • Community lots designed for connection, creativity, and care
  • Neighborhoods that feel lived-in, diverse, and emotionally safe
  • World Select Screen Sort Mod – Rearranges the world selection screen so similar worlds appear together, helping me make sense of my Sims’ universe
  • More Holidays Mod – Adds meaningful, culturally diverse holidays that support storytelling and routine

This worldbuilding helps me create spaces where every Sim belongs.
